Your municipal utilities
As a municipal company in the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer, Stadtwerke is close to its citizens and focuses on competent and customer-friendly advice on site, because no one here is more familiar with your needs, interests and wishes.
Most of what we do for you every day goes relatively unnoticed.
We ensure that Kevelaer's drinking water is available to you 365 days a year in perfect quality as a vital medium. In addition, we at Technische Betriebe Kevelaer ensure that wastewater is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. And all roads, paths and squares that you walk or drive on in Kevelaer are also constructed, regularly inspected and maintained by Technische Betriebe Kevelaer.
In addition, our wholly ownedsubsidiary, NiersEnergie GmbH, also offers you electricity. With the so-called "NiersStrom", we are already making a difference in and for Kevelaer. This is because the financial power from the sale of electricity benefits the Kevelaer region.
Under the motto "Citizens drive for citizens", the volunteer bus drivers connect the villages of Kervenheim, Winnekendonk, Wetten and Twisteden with the city center of Kevelaer. This type of local public transport is unique in NRW.
We do all this because it is our job as a municipal supplier. But also, and above all, because we do it for Kevelaer, our home.

Our water tower
The Kevelaer water tower was built in 1905 in the Art Nouveau style. With a capacity of 450 cubic meters, it supplied the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer with water for a long time. In its more than 100-year history, it was also used for various other purposes. For example, apartments were housed in the tower shaft for decades. Today it serves as an office building for the Kevelaer public utility company.
The people of Kevela have long since grown fond of the 54-meter-high tower. It has become a real landmark and it is impossible to imagine the skyline of the pilgrimage town without it. And it is also of particular importance to Stadtwerke Kevelaer, which is why it has a place of honor in our logo.
