Our drinking water:
Always fresh and of the highest quality

Always supplying you with clean and fresh water from Kevelaer is one of Stadtwerke Kevelaer's top priorities. We go to great lengths to ensure that it comes out of your tap cool and refreshing at all times. And we have the quality of the water regularly checked by an independent laboratory. This is the only way to ensure that our drinking water always meets the highest standards and that we can all drink or cook with it without hesitation. It is not for nothing that tap water is the most strictly controlled foodstuff in Germany.

Why our drinking water is always a good choice

  • Every year, around 100 water samples are taken from various sources and tested to ensure the highest quality.
  • Water is a precious resource - so we should use it responsibly and protect it from pollution.
  • Together with local farmers and horticulturalists, we have been actively protecting water since the early 1990s. As a result, the nitrate content has been reduced to well below the limit of 50 mg/l: Today, the worst value of the five wells is around 20 milligrams of nitrate per liter, meaning that the mixed water is even below 20 mg/l on average.
  • Our drinking water is not only healthy, but also environmentally friendly. According to a study, tap water is 586 times more climate-friendly than still mineral water. With a low ecological footprint of just 0.35 g CO₂/liter, it is significantly lower than bottled water.
  • You can also cover part of your daily mineral requirements with our drinking water. Kevelaer tap water contains 39 mg calcium and 7.7 mg magnesium per liter.

Our drinking water network stretches over 246 km and supplies a good 14,000 households and consumption points. State-of-the-art technology and the highest standards ensure the quality of our drinking water from the tap to the house connection. Your trust is important to us, which is why we continuously strive to optimize and reliably ensure your drinking water supply.
