Purpose of data processing
The purpose of data processing is to send you a newsletter from the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer. Your personal data to be processed in this context are earmarked, i.e. they are only used for the purpose for which they were collected.
Main legal basis
The processing of your personal data is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 a) GDPR. By confirming this data protection declaration, you give the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer your consent to the necessary processing of your personal data for the aforementioned purposes. You can revoke this consent in whole or in part at any time without giving reasons for the future.
Double opt-in and logging
Registration for the newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registering, you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no-one can register with other people's e-mail addresses. Subscriptions to the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the time of registration and confirmation as well as the IP address. Changes to your stored data are also logged.
Use of the "letterman" shipping service
The newsletter is sent via "letterman", a newsletter distribution platform of the German provider Chamaeleon Aktiengesellschaft für innovative Netzlösungen, Robert-Bosch-Straße 12 / Haus IV, 56410 Montabaur. The email addresses of newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on the servers of Chamaeleon Aktiengesellschaft in Germany. Chamaeleon Aktiengesellschaft uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf.
Login data
To subscribe to the newsletter, all you need to do is enter your e-mail address.
Statistical survey and analyses
The statistical surveys include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. This information cannot be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. The evaluations are used to recognize the reading habits of the readers and to adapt the content to them. If you do not agree to the statistical analysis, we will unfortunately not be able to send you a newsletter.
Cancellation/revocation
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.
Recipients and categories of recipients of the data
Your data will be processed exclusively within the scope of data protection law.
Your personal data may also be processed by other companies that work on our behalf ("processors"). Service providers commissioned by us in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR may be, for example, process service providers, IT service providers or print service providers. We have obligated these service providers to comply with our data protection and data security standards. As part of this obligation, it has been determined, among other things, that these service providers will only receive data that is required for the respective order fulfillment.
Personal data is not transferred to third countries.
Duration of storage and retention periods
Your personal data collected as part of the newsletter mailing will be stored for as long as you have subscribed to the newsletter. After unsubscribing/cancellation/revocation, your personal data stored solely for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be irrevocably deleted, unless longer storage is required for a specific reason.
In principle, the deletion of personal data is replaced by anonymization of the data.
Rights of the data subject
Your rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data transfer and objection regarding the personal data collected are expressly pointed out at this point. The legal basis for this is Articles 15 to 21 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and Sections 49 and 50 of the NRW State Data Protection Act.
