By bus from the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer to Nijmegen

Kleve district - The district of Kleve is launching a new cross-border express bus line SB 46 on Sunday, April 6, 2025. The line connects the two stations in the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer on the German side and Nijmegen Centraal Station in the Netherlands in around 90 minutes. The buses run every two hours. The SB 46 is part of the public transport offensive decided by the Kleve district council. After the SB 42 from Kerken to Venlo, which was launched in August 2024, it is the second new cross-border express bus route in the district of Kleve.

"With the new line between the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and Nijmegen, we are creating an attractive public transport service. It is a fast and direct connection between two hubs. With this service, we are improving transport connections to the Netherlands and are also heading for many destinations along the route that are of interest to many passengers," says District Administrator Christoph Gerwers. In addition to the two stations mentioned, the route also includes Irrland in the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer-Twisteden, the Lower Rhine Airport in Weeze, the Goch Steintor, the Goch railroad station and the Galgensteg in Kranenburg. The SB 46 is operated by BVR Busverkehr Rheinland GmbH. Manja Schmidt, spokesperson for the BVR Busverkehr Rheinland GmbH branch, is delighted with the collaboration. "With the new SB 46 express bus route, we are making an important contribution to improving cross-border mobility and strengthening the connection between North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands. We are proud to have taken another step towards a transport network across national borders and will continue to work closely with our partners in the future to further optimize public transport in the region."

The VRR fare applies along the entire route. Passengers can therefore travel comfortably to Nijmegen and back with the "DeutschlandTicket". Of course, a ticket can also be purchased on the bus. The "eezy.nrw" fare also applies. This is an electronic fare that is used via an app on a smartphone. The price of the ticket is made up of a basic price and a price per kilometer and is calculated based on the distance as the crow flies between your start and destination. Tickets are available via the "DB NRWay" app or at www.dbregiobus-nrw.de/tickets-tarife/nrway.

The timetable can be downloaded from the BVR Busverkehr Rheinland GmbH website(www.dbregiobus-nrw.de). In addition, the "smart number" in NRW local transport provides information about the timetable around the clock on 08006 504030 .
