The Council forms committees in which the majority of political decisions are discussed in advance. In some matters, the committees can also make final decisions.
The tasks of the Audit and Controlling Committee are set out in the North Rhine-Westphalia Municipal Code (GO NRW) and the Audit Regulations. The Audit Committee of the Council of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer, in cooperation with the Local Audit Department, examines, for example, the annual accounts of the pilgrimage town or deals with various audit reports.
The meetings of the Audit and Controlling Committee take place in the Council Chamber in the Town Hall on Peter-Plümpe-Platz and are open to the public, with a few exceptions. Members of the public are welcome to attend!
The composition of the Audit Committee and the public meeting documents can be found in the Council information system.
