A lot has happened on the Kevelaer playgrounds in recent months. Stadtwerke Kevelaer had already presented the new acquisitions at the beginning of October: The playgrounds on Lortzingstraße, Weberstraße, Heinestraße and Beethovenring were upgraded with large climbing structures.
As the concrete foundations on Beethovenring still had to harden, the 11-metre-long climbing facility could only be opened for play during the last playground inspection last week. The huge climbing paradise with two towers, various ladders, a rope bridge and sand play options offers safe and varied play and exercise fun for children of different age groups. A few musical instruments are hidden among the many play combinations of varying degrees of difficulty - in keeping with the street name "Beethovenring". Who can discover them all?
Younger children in particular had wished for a new play area on Heinestraße. Now the "Strandbad" play area invites children to have fun playing in the sand. Two sand elevators and three sand slides, one of which is equipped with a rotating wheel, offer young explorers a variety of options. The sloping ramp with handholds, a slide and a small playhouse are ideal for children under the age of three.
All age groups can test their balancing skills and balance on the new "slackline" on Heinestraße.
The playground committee makes sure that every playground that receives new play equipment has an overarching theme. This makes it even easier for the children to distinguish between the playgrounds. When selecting new playground equipment, those responsible attach particular importance to ensuring that it stimulates children's imagination and creativity while at the same time allowing them to play safely. There are a total of 56 playgrounds in Kevelaer and the surrounding villages, all of which are maintained by Stadtwerke Kevelaer and the employees of the depot.
