Since May, cultural and social education worker Ben Cui has been on board as the new manager of Kompass and is supported by educator Rebecca Teigelkamp. The two are delighted that they can now open the youth club three afternoons a week again.
In June, Kompass will be open Wednesdays to Fridays from 3 to 8 pm. Kompass will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for the time being. On Fridays, the new Kompass team cooks together with the children and young people.
"We are always happy to welcome visitors! Children, teenagers and young adults are welcome to drop by during our current opening hours and get to know us," says the new Kompass manager Ben Cui. The Kevelaer youth center is aimed at 10 to 27-year-olds.
Cooking together, playing board games, table football, air field hockey, billiards or Playstation 4 - there is something for young and old to do at Kompass. But of course the new team is also open to the wishes and ideas of the kids and young people who regularly visit Kompass. From August, Kompass will have even more support with a new colleague. The team will then consider how they can position the Kompass youth center for the future - of course also with regard to the new premises on Kroatenstraße, which are expected to be occupied at the end of the year.
Kompass will be closed during the summer vacation. However, in the first two weeks, from 8.07. to 19.07., the "vacation fun" for primary school children from Kevelaer and the villages will take place again on the premises of the Kompass.
